Two paths to reach the final
The official French Throwdown qualifiers
Athletes participated in the French Throwdown online qualifying phase. This ranking forms the main basis for selection for the final.
The CrossFit season
A second route to qualification is via the official CrossFit season:
Elite Teams → ranking at the end of the first phase of the Open
Elite Individuals & Masters → Quarterfinals ranking
The top 20 European athletes from the Quarterfinals, the top 10 teams in Europe, and the top 5 to 10 Masters in Europe (depending on their age category) receive an invitation to the French Throwdown finals.
Which ranking takes priority?
When an athlete qualifies through both channels, the following rule applies: the French Throwdown qualification ranking takes priority.
Our official ranking therefore determines the order of invitations and the possible reallocation of spots.
How does the reallocation of spots work?
When an athlete who has already qualified via the French Throwdown qualifiers also receives an invitation via the CrossFit season, an additional spot via the French Throwdown qualification system will be opened.
In this case, the spot is reallocated, the invitation is sent to the next athlete in the French Throwdown qualification rankings, and this process continues until the final lineup is complete.
Special case:
If an athlete ranked in the Top 20 Europe in the Quarterfinals receives an invitation but declines to participate in the French Throwdown, then:
the invitation is passed on to the next athlete in the Quarterfinals ranking.
Concrete exampleLet's take the case of Elisa Fuliano, winner of FTD25:
She qualifies via the French Throwdown qualifiers.
She is also one of the top 20 European athletes in the Quarterfinals.
Her qualification via the Quarterfinals therefore frees up a place.
This spot is reallocated to the next athlete in the French Throwdown qualifier rankings.
Another situation:
If an athlete ranked in the Top 20 of the Quarterfinals receives an invitation but declines their spot in the final, then: the invitation is sent to the next athlete in the European Quarterfinals rankings.
We look forward to welcoming the qualified athletes and seeing you at the Arena Grand Paris on May 15, 16, and 17 for the French Throwdown 2026 finals.
