Our History
Since 2012, French Throwdown has been writing the history of CrossFit in France
A bit of history
French Throwdown was born in 2012, during the first edition of the national fitness championship organized at La Vilette with the support of Reebok. Since then, we have chosen to perpetuate this tradition by organizing a high-level CrossFit competition in France every summer.
The first editions took place from 2013 to 2016 at the National Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance (INSEP), before moving to Stade Charléty until 2018. From 2019 to 2022, French Throwdown took place at the National Velodrome in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, an iconic venue that will also host the BMX Olympic Games in 2024.

A charitable event
French Throwdown has been a charitable event since 2022 in collaboration with the Aladin association.
This association aims to collect funds to make the dreams of sick children come true. Thus, since 2022, all profits from French Throwdown are donated to Aladin to help them realize the dreams of dozens of children each year.
CrossFit Louvre
Since its creation, French Throwdown has been organized with the essential involvement of the CrossFit Louvre teams. Founded in 2012 on rue Étienne Marcel, after moving to place des Victoires at Arena Grand Paris, CrossFit Louvre settled in 2013 at 31 Avenue de l'Opéra. The 4th French box, its location became legendary in CrossFit practice.
Host of most of the first official CrossFit certifications in France, it became a place of pilgrimage for the first French-speaking CrossFit enthusiasts wishing to open their box. This iconic box, located in Opéra, Saint-Lazare but also in Bordeaux, is a major player in the CrossFit community in France.
Since 2012, CrossFit Louvre has brought its expertise and commitment to make each edition a unique experience for athletes, spectators, and the entire CrossFit community.
